It has been a long while since I have written to you all. I have been spending most of my spare time writing articles and doing public speaking about food addiction and Binge Eating Disorder. I have spoken at conferences and vigils and really anywhere that people might want and need to hear about these mental illnesses.
On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, I preformed a monologue on the stage at the historical Capital Theater in downtown Wheeling, West Virginia as part of the cast of “This is My Brave,” an international program that raises awareness about mental illness. I chose to write and speak about my wins and losses with food addiction. I hope you will watch and share.
Recently, I started writing a novel in which the protagonist is a woman with Binge Eating Disorder. I am incredibly excited about this new project because I feel that it will be of interest to a wider audience that my memoir about living with BED. Imagine a book in which the main character is struggles with BED and goes through the recovery in ways similar to what we all experience, including more than one relapse.
In the coming weeks, I will be sharing excerpts of the novel with you as it evolves. I hope you will read along and share your thoughts with me.

To read more about Christina’s journey through recovery from Binge Eating Disorder:
Hi Christina, I’m a big fan of you and your writing. You inspire me to continue my abstinence even though temptation is everywhere. It’s especially hard during the holidays when I’m the only food addict at the table and there’s nothing for me to eat at the family get togethers so I must bring my own food. I can’t wait for your excerpt and to read your new novel because you remind me that I’m not alone.
It is nice to hear from you Rachel. The holidays can be tough, but we keep going. The more we flex our abstinence muscles, the stronger they become.
